Adult and Child Counselling Maidstone

My name is Alison Day and I’m an adult and child counsellor am based at CBT and Counselling Maidstone. I’m a fully qualified counsellor and member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) providing counselling for both adults and children.

With over nine year’s extensive experience working with individuals and children over the age of eleven. I use an integrative approach, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs.

I’m a fully qualified ‘Relate’ trained couple counsellor as well as having my own private counselling Maidstone practice.

Counselling for children

My work has involved a vast amount of experience counselling children in secondary schools, colleges and a pupil referral unit.  Supporting children through any difficulties they may be facing. Problems such as anxiety, bullying, self-harm, complex family situations or dealing with challenging emotions.

I will help your child feel really ‘heard’ and understood in order to help them move forward more positively.

Adult counselling

I consider myself to be warm, approachable and non-judgemental, with a down to earth approach. The setting I provide will be safe and confidential so you feel able to talk through any issues you may be facing. I will help you feel understood and supported at a time in your life when you may need it most. Perhaps you are experiencing anxiety, depression or anger, a lack of confidence, confusion or sadness.

Maybe you would like to gain an understanding of your relationships, past and present. Including the relationship you have with yourself. Whatever the problem may be, together we will try to develop strategies to improve your emotional well-being and bring about positive change.

I believe that happiness is not the absence of problems but our ability to deal with them. By working on understanding ourselves and developing self-confidence, we are better equipped to take control of our lives, more able to engage effectively with others and enjoy the life we choose to live.

Ethical standards

I subscribe to and work within the UKCP code of ethics and the BACP ethical framework. Alongside undertaking regular professional development and supervision as well as having professional indemnity insurance.

I provide help and support for any type of problem such anxiety, depression counselling, child counselling,  anger management and relationship problems.
