More From Jackie

Hello, my name is Jackie. I hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I’m a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy).

I’m qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and person-centred therapy. I offer both face-to-face and online sessions for adult individuals.

I use a range of tools and techniques to offer the best counselling approach for you, combining my experience with a warm, down-to-earth style.

CBT can help you understand and challenge negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours that may be affecting your daily life. Together, we’ll work to break these patterns and help you regain control, using tools you can apply both inside and outside of the therapy room.

EMDR is particularly useful if you’re struggling with distressing memories, either from childhood or more recent events. In our face-to-face sessions, we may use techniques like eye movements or tapping to help your brain process these memories and store them in a more manageable way.

I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting, but I’ll do all I can to put you at ease and answer any questions you may have. My aim is to create a safe, calm space where you feel able to speak openly and honestly, without fear of judgement.

Whether you are facing day-to-day stress or the impact of past experiences, I’m here to support you. In our first session, we’ll talk about what you’d like to get from therapy, but if you’re unsure, that’s completely fine, we will work it out together.

How my therapy can  help you

My approach to therapy is ‘Person-Centred’, which means I will create a safe, trusting space where ‘you’ are at the heart of every session. You choose the focus each week, bringing anything you feel

My role as your therapist is to guide you on your journey. I will support you throughout whilst maintaining confidentiality and respect for the things you share with me.

Although sometimes people feel uncertain about seeking therapy, I can reassure you that counselling can put you on a path to positive change. Most people wish they had sought therapy months, if not years, before. That doesn’t alter the fact that counselling can be challenging at times. There may be tears, but there will also be laughter and every emotion in between. We will work through these emotions together. I will have plenty of tissues on standby just in case!

Ethical Standards

As a member of BACP I subscribe to their code of ethics. This includes undertaking continuous professional development and clinical Supervision. I also hold professional indemnity insurance in order to be able to practice.

If you wish to consider medication or are seeking a medical diagnosis or medical report. An appointment with your GP or a Consultant Psychiatrist would be more appropriate.
