Counselling & CBT Bexley

My name is Annie Thompson and I’m a fully qualified Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) based at CBT Bexley. My accreditation is by both the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and the NCS (National Counselling Society). I offer many forms of therapy for both adults and children from age 5+.

My experience of counselling and CBT Bexley spans over 12 years. This has been in a variety of voluntary sector settings including disadvantaged young adults as well as in my own private practice.

Counselling for children

I’m highly experienced in counselling children, in both primary and secondary school, supporting them through any difficulties they may be facing. These include anxiety, anger, bullying, self-harm, low self-esteem, relationship issues and friendship problems.

I will help your child feel really ‘heard’ and understood in order to help them move forward in a more positive way. This may be achieved in a fun creative way using games, Lego, emotion cards, art therapy or just simply talking.

Counselling for adults

My aim is to provide a warm, confidential and safe environment in which we can work together to explore your difficulties and help you make sense of things. I will help you gain insight and a better understanding of yourself and your issues, whilst providing you with the tools to enable you move forward more positively.

The therapy I provide is not a specific model, instead I will tailor my approach to suit your individual needs. I have a successful track record in helping people achieve their goals by providing confidential, non-judgemental support. I also email homework so that the work continues between sessions.

Ethical standards

My work is within the BACP ethical framework and I undertake regular professional development and supervision as well as having professional indemnity insurance.
