My name is Sian Jones BSc (Hons) and I am a fully qualified Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I am also the founder of CBT and Counselling Kent and have extensive experience in both CBT therapy and counselling. I now specialise exclusively in online CBT therapy and relationship counselling.

The approach I use is called Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), a well-established method under the CBT umbrella, developed by psychologist Albert Ellis. REBT focuses on how our emotions and behaviours are influenced by the beliefs and thoughts we hold about ourselves, others, and the world around us. Through this approach, I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful or self-defeating beliefs and replace them with more constructive and realistic alternatives.

Research shows that the most important factor in successful therapy is the relationship between you and your therapist. I believe my kind, empathetic, and straightforward approach helps people feel at ease and supported to work through the challenges they face.

I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what’s holding you back. Together, we will look at how your beliefs, thoughts, and feelings interact — and how they may be affecting your emotional wellbeing.

Through therapy, I will help you make sense of your situation, reduce confusion, and bring clarity to your thinking — helping you see the wood from the trees. My goal is not to tell you what to do, but to help you feel empowered to make choices that are right for you.

Building a trusting relationship is at the heart of my work. Many clients tell me they appreciate that I don’t just sit and nod — instead, I take an active role in the process, offering reflections, guidance, and genuine conversation to support your recovery and change.

My Experience

Before becoming a therapist, I worked for many years in the corporate world, holding a variety of management roles at Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd. While this might seem very different from therapy, the skills I developed — including communication, structure, and discipline — have been invaluable in my work as a counsellor. It also gave me a broad perspective on life outside the therapy room.

My career change was a deliberate and meaningful decision. Over 10 years, while working full-time, I completed a degree in Psychology and went on to train as a psychotherapist, counsellor and CBT therapist.
