Hello, my name is Nikki Blake and I am a fully qualified online therapist for CBT and Counselling Kent. I am accredited by ‘The National Counselling Society’ (NCS) and a registered member of the ‘British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’ (BACP).
My counselling experience and continued professional development is underpinned by my qualifications. Namely a ‘Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling’ alongside a ‘Certificate in Supervision’ and a ‘Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems’
I am experienced in working with a wide range of problems, such as stress and anxiet. Depression, low elf-esteem, relationship problems and grief. I specialise in grief and loss through my work for ‘Cruse Bereavement Care” where I volunteer and provid emotional support to anyone who has experienced loss through the death of a loved one.
In addition to providing therapy I also offer supervision to other therapists. This means I ensure they are fully supported in order to feel competent and able to work to the best of their ability.
How online counselling can help
The hustle and bustle of our everyday lives along with any external pressures, can throw up challenges. Which, at times we might find difficult to deal with. Perhaps you are feeling alone or are unsure where to turn or who to talk to, which is common. Talking to a professional counsellor, who is a complete stranger, unbiased and non-judegmental can help give you clarity so you are able to move forward more positively .
I will encourage you to explore any problems you may have and the feelings associated with them. You will be provided with a safe, confidential space where you will have the opportunity to talk and I will listen
My approach to online counselling
At the begnning of our first session, I will ask you what you are hoping to achieve from the therapy and also explain how I work. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions or express any concerns. Through me gaining an understanding of your goals we can establish the best way for me to support you. The first session is also about you ensuring that I am the right therapist for you and you feel comfortable enough to open up to me.
During further sessions it will be your opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in more detail, I will gently help you to make insights and connections which will allow you to break free from barriers that might be holding you back. I will be with you every step of the way to support you through the process.
I don’t offer advice but I do play an active role in the sessions. Although you will have the freedom to direct the sessions and tell your story and find a way forward. Our work will be at a pace that feels right for you. As you move through the therapy process you will undoubtedly gain a deeper understanding of your inner thoughts and feelings.
This clarity and insight can pave the way towards personal problem solving, leading to significant and lasting change. Overall, I will take an active role in assisting you make the changes in your life that positively benefit you.
I subscribe to and work within the BACP Ethical Framework and also undertake regular professional development and supervision. If you would like to make an appointment to see Nikki for online counselling. Please contact her via CBT and Counselling Kent today, Request an appointment
