My name is Katie Harris and I’m a fully qualified counsellor based at CBT and Counselling Ashford practice. I’m a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists).
I have a wealth of experience counselling both adults and children, with problems such as anxiety, depression or relationship issues. I’m also experienced in more the specialised areas of therapy. Including rape, historical sexual abuse and bereavement counselling. These different specialisms require me to work in different ways therapeutically. Depending on a persons individual needs.
I consider myself empathic, warm and non-judgemental way. My aim is to help you feel at ease so you are able to speak openly about the problems you are facing. The relationship between the therapist and the individual is one of the most important parts of the therapy process. I will help you try and identify any unhelpful patterns of behaviour that you may be unaware of so keep repeating. Together we will work on making the any changes you feel necessary.
It will be your safe, confidential space to be able talk about whatever you need to enable you to move forward more positively.
I work diversely and have vast experience working with mixed cultures, same gender relationships, families and friendships. No problem is too big or too small.
I subscribe to and works within the UKCP Code of Ethics and the BACP Ethical Framework. I also undertakes regular professional development, as well as having professional indemnity insurance.
If you wish to consider medication, or are seeking a medical diagnosis or a medical report, then an appointment with your GP or a Consultant Psychiatrist would be more appropriate
