My name is Nariman and I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor with a certificate in ‘Counselling and Psychotherapy’. I provide online counselling for adults at CBT and Counselling Kent. I am also a fully qualified ‘Integrative Psychosexual and Relationship therapist’ and hold a Diploma in ‘Psychosexual and Relationship therapy’. My training is accredited by Middlesex University in London and I’m a registered member of COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists).

How I can help

I believe that everybody’s situation is unique. Therefore, I will use the relevant tools and methods based on your individual needs and support you to overcome any issues and help you achieve the goals you have set.

I will provide you with a safe, non-judgmental and warm space and we will work together, for as long as you need. You will have the security of knowing that everything we discuss is treated with the genuine respect and in confidence.

My aim it to build rapport with you as quickly as possible, so hopefully you find it easier to open up and disclose the intimate aspects of your life. I understand that you are the expert of your life whilst I am the facilitator. I will be there to hold and support you whilst you explore and navigate your way through your challenges. Together we will rationalise your situation and untangle your thoughts in order to make the situations clearer and reduce any confusion you might have.

How I work

My approach is ‘integrative’. This means I use a variety of different approaches, theories and tools that suit each person needs. I use the ‘Person-Centred Approach’ when I feel you need to lead the way, which provides you with empathetic, non-judgmental space and unconditional positive regard.

I also incorporate ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy’ (CBT) into my work. Which will help you develop alternative/more helpful ways of thinking and behaving, which might be contributing to psychological distress. CBT helps to change negative thoughts or beliefs into more positive/rational ones.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues. Including (but not limited to) anxiety, psychosexual therapy, depression, grief and loss. Along with anger management, trauma, relationship problems and couple counselling.

Ethical Standards

I subscribe to and work within COSRT code of ethics and ethical framework. Additionally, I undertake regular professional development and supervision as well as having professional indemnity insurance.

My name is Sherene Charles and I am a fully qualified individual and couple’s therapist for CBT and Counselling Kent. I am Senior Accredited with ‘The National Counselling Society’ (NCS) and the’ Infant Loss Foundation’. Alongside being a member of the ‘British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’ (BACP).

I practice an ‘integrative approach’ to therapy. That’s because I take the view that no single approach that can treat each person in all situations. Therefore, my counselling techniques are tailored to suit your individual needs and personal circumstances.

In addition to providing therapy, I also offer supervision to other therapists. Which means I ensure they are fully supported so they feel competent and able to work to the best of their ability.

Counselling is a journey that you and I can embark on together. You can choose the destination i.e developing and increasing your self-esteem. Overcoming anxiety, improving your relationships, processing and coming to terms with your past. Or improving your mental wellbeing. My role is to facilitate you in navigating your journey.

​How my counselling online works

I like to think that I am a warm, understanding and compassionate individual. Along with gentle challenge, empathy and compassion, I will provide a safe and secure setting to enable you the courage to examine your past, which might have contributed to any issues you may be facing currently.

At the start of our first session I will explain how the therapy will work. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you might have. During our first session I will gather some basic information from you, discover your reasons for having therapy and explore what you would like to achieve. Sometimes people are unsure of what they would like to achieve from therapy; if this is the case, we can discuss what would be helpful to you.

Through me gaining an understanding  of your goals it will enable me to establish what your needs are and the best way for me to support you. It is also an opportunity for you to gain a sense of my approach and to see if you feel comfortable enough to work with me and whether I am the right counsellor for you to work with. You are not tied to coming back.

Moving you forward

Once you establish what your goal is through therapy, I will accompany you on your journey towards your chosen destination. I will provide you with support through the process, to identify the most suitable and appropriate route, to highlight potential obstacles along the way and inform you of all possible diversions, to ensure we travel at a comfortable speed and reach your chosen destination as quickly and safely as possible.

​Laughter during our sessions is of great benefit. Because it is like medicine – but without the side effects. Therefore, where appropriate, humour will be a key ingredient during our sessions. Gently encouraging you to face any deep fears and helping you explore your hopes and goals for the future.

I will gain great satisfaction and fulfilment in supporting you as take steps to move forward more positively – in whichever way they choose.

Hello, my name is Kaye Barney and I’m a fully qualified, individual and couples’ therapist. I hold a ‘Psychology BA honours degree’ and a foundation degree in Counselling. My training was completed through ‘Relate’ and ‘Tavistock Relationships’. I am also an accredited practitioner of ‘Therapy for Depression’.

My online counselling provides support with problems such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Alongside help with intrusive thoughts, bereavement, eating disorders and relationship problems. However, no problem is too big or too small if you would like to discuss it.

How I can help you

I will help you explore what happens with intrusive thoughts; unpick unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour and encourage you to voice your hopes and fears. Together, we will work on helping you understand how you communicate more effectively, if required. We will try and identify what you would like to change along with helping you learn how to accept what you can’t and finding peace with that.

From the minute we start working together, I’ll help you feel at ease with my friendly, non-judgemental approach. I’ll give you time to talk about your problems in confidence and at your own pace. I will allow you space to be heard and help you find new ways of coping with whatever challenges you are facing.

I offer a holistic approach to helping you process your issues, by integrating –

  • Your past – and how this impacts your current situation.
  • Your present – understanding what’s going on for you right now.
  • Your future – helping you choose and achieve a more comfortable way forward.

About my online counselling

My session are carried out via Zoom for both couples and individuals or by telephone for individuals. Which allows you to have your sessions in the comfort and privacy of your own space and eliminates the need to travel.

I may use a variety of counselling approaches dependent on your individual needs, such as: –

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – which works on uncovering, and creating, links between thoughts and behaviour.
  • Psychodynamic – which explores the impact of the unconscious mind
  • Systemic – which looks at the influence of the family and other ‘systems.
  • Transactional Analysis – which draws on theories of personality, communications, and human development.

Ethical Standards

I am a registered BACP member, have a BACP Certificate of Proficiency, and work within the BACP Ethical Framework. I am fully insured, DBS certified, and take part in ongoing supervision and professional development.
