My name is Beverley Simpkins and I’m fully qualified adult Counsellor and CBT therapist based at CBT Sevenoaks and West Wickham.
I hold a diploma in both ‘Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling’ and in ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)’. I’m accredited by the NCS (National Counselling Society) and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists).
Along with my work in private practice for over the last seven years, I also have experience working with the charity ‘Mind’.
‘Integrative therapy’ means I don’t believe that one approach fits everybody. Instead I draw upon a wide range of elements from specific therapies, depending on your individual needs. I will provide you the space to allow you to explore your concerns in a calm, supportive, confidential environment, at your pace.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) looks at how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all linked. Therefore, if we think negative or upsetting thoughts, we will then feel negative or upset. We are then likely to behave in a way that reinforces those thoughts and strengthens the feelings, which becomes a vicious cycle. I will help you break that cycle.
The relationship between you and I is key to your success. Therefore, it’s important that you feel comfortable enough to share your thoughts and feelings with me. And safe enough to talk about anything you choose, however painful that might be.
I do understand that counselling might feel quite daunting at first. Which is why I will do everything I can to help you feel relaxed. People I have seen in the past, have told me that my warm, down to earth approach makes them feel at ease straight away.
People seek counselling for variety of reasons and no problem is too big or too small. Perhaps you are lacking in confidence or have low self-esteem. Maybe you feel depressed or have relationship problems. I will work with to help you get to where you want to get to and feel more in control of your life.
I subscribe to and work within the NCS code of ethics and the BACP ethical framework. In addition, I undertake regular professional development and supervision. Alongside holding professional indemnity insurance.

My name is Sarah Warrington and I am a fully qualified ‘Integrative Psychotherapist’ and adult counsellor based at CBT and Counselling Sevenoaks. I have over five years’ experience working in private practice with both couples and individuals.
Being an ‘Integrative Counsellor’ means I am trained in many different theoretical approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This means I can tailor my approach to the style which best suits you and your needs.
I am also trained in working with trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) in addition to being qualified to use the ‘Rewind Technique’. This is a non-intrusive, safe and highly effective psychological method for detraumatising people, which can also be used for removing phobias.
I believe, to get the most out of counselling, it’s important to find a therapist that is right for you. You will need someone that you connect with and feel comfortable and secure enough to open up to.
The feedback I receive is that I quickly help people to feel at ease and relaxed. My warm, down to earth approach will enable you to feel safe and supported in order to be honest about how you really feel and what you would like to change.
We will work with the past, present and the future –
Present – where are you now, what is going on in your life, what has bought you to counselling?
Past – what has happened in your past that may be affecting your present?
Future – where do you want to be?
Using the information gained during our sessions along with the appropriate tools. We will look at how we can do things differently to improve the future
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Alongside being an accredited member of the NCS (National Counselling Society)
I also undertake regular professional development and supervision as well as having professional indemnity insurance.
I work diversely with vast experience working with mixed cultures, same gender relationships, families and friendships.
